Summary
The Environmental & Safety Specialist is an active team member in the FBO Operations Support Group and is responsible for the management of the environmental compliance, liability, strategy and sustainability program.
Primary Responsibilities
- Act as a liaison between all operating groups including corporate management, consultants and regulatory agencies to maintain environmental compliance
- Manage and conduct annual “Right-to-Know” training for all locations.
- Oversee all permitting and re-permitting for various environmental permits, such as, storm water and wastewater permits
- Maintain federal and state underground and aboveground storage tank compliance program; manage the development of SPCC plans
- Conduct trend analysis and prepare reports on environmental compliance
- Conduct environmental compliance training of all FBO personnel
- Assist and monitor compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Administration (OSHA) requirements, as well as, FBO operating and safety procedures
- Review, audit, and create safety and training documentations
- Administer Jet Fuel QC and GSE management software programs
- Other duties as needed

Other Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an aviation related environmental role
- Knowledge of federal and state environmental and OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of environmental principles and practices as they apply to an FBO operation/aviation
- Strong administrative and documentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize and conduct effective training and educational programs
- Ability to plan and organize work in order to achieve desired results
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents
- Ability to respond to complaints or sensitive inquiries
- Required to problem solve, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions
- Ability to pass drug screen
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Degree in environmental studies or other related technical degree preferred
